Beacon has reached an agreement with Mr. Van Betuw et al regarding the farm-out of its non-core Exploration Agreement located in the Masstown area, Nova Scotia, subject to the approval of the Nova Scotia Government for the transfer of this Exploration Agreement. The new management of Beacon considers that the technical risks and financial rewards associated with the Masstown property in Nova Scotia are not commensurate with the capital required to develop it. Beacon is therefore farming the Nova Scotia Agreement out in exchange for a 3% GORR. Beacon has decided to focus its efforts in its San Joaquin East Slope heavy oil exploration project, where the technical risks are believed to be lower and the financial rewards are believed to be higher and achievable sooner.
